Dr Nighat says the difference between headaches and migraines
If you’ve ever suffered from a migraine, then you can instantly recognise the throbbing pain that usually strikes on one side of your head.
Able to last for hours or even days, migraines can also spur on other uncomfortable symptoms like stiff neck and tiredness.
The common problem can often pop up several times a week, making migraines overwhelming.
Fortunately, a doctor has revealed an affordable remedy that could help target these stubborn headaches.
Poonam Sachdev, Medical Director, explained that ice packs could help act as an effective pain relief.

The doctor penned for WebMD: “Put an ice pack on your forehead, scalp, or neck to get pain relief.
“Experts aren’t sure exactly why it works, but reducing the flow of blood might be part of it.”
What’s more, you can get instant ice packs for as little as 47p.

Sachdev also suggested trying a frozen gel pack or a washcloth that’s been rinsed in cold water to relieve your migraine.
The doctor isn’t the first expert to suggest using water of a certain temperature to relieve the uncomfortable health problem.
Dr Kunal Sood, a board-certified acute and chronic pain doctor, took to his TikTok to share that soaking your feet in hot water could tackle migraines.
This easy hack doesn’t have any of the same side effects that medication may leave you with.
He explained that the hot water could help dilate the blood vessels in your feet, releasing blood from your head.
When the blood is pulled away from where migraines strike, it could reduce the pain you are experiencing, the doctor added.
