Sam Fox’s doctor found the 10mm growth just days before her wedding to fiancee Linda Olsen. The star, famous for her raunchy model pictures on The Sun’s Page 3, recently appeared on This Morning and told her fans that she is expecting to have it “taken out” after her wedding, but reassured people “I’m sure everything is going to be fine”.

She said: “I’ve got an operation on my throat coming up very very soon and I’m getting a lot of messages off people who are very worried because they’re not sure whether it’s sinister or not.

“So I’d just like to say to my fans out there, I’m having it done.

“As soon as I’m married I’ll be getting it taken out and I’m sure everything is going to be fine.”

Fox first visited a specialist in Harley Street after experiencing problems with her singing voice.

She told the Sun: “When I saw the growth on the screen, I thought, ‘Oh God, that’s not normal’.

“It looked very big. You think about throat cancer straight away.

“’The doctor said, “We have to get that out as soon as possible. It might be nothing, but it might not be.”‘

According to Cancer Research UK, roughly 90 percent survive their cancer for five or more years after their diagnosis.

In the UK, roughly 2,000 new cases of this type of cancer occur and it tends to be more common over the age of 60.
