Funfetti Ice Cream Is Apparently Heading to Freezer Aisles With a Cake Crunch Swirl
The Funfetti news just keeps coming! After just finding out that Pillsbury would be releasing Funfetti Brownie Mix, now we’re getting a frozen treat with the iconic colorful sprinkles. It was only a matter of time (and we’re glad this is the time) that Funfetti Ice Cream came knocking on our doors.
In true @candyhunting style, the Instagram account was the first to uncover the find on Instacart, the grocery delivery and pick-up service. As described on the packaging, the new frozen dessert consists of Funfetti light ice cream that’s mixed with rainbow sprinkles and a cake crunch swirl. Since Funfetti is best known in its cake version, we’re happy that there’s a (pink!) cake element in the ice cream.
The 1.5-quart has the same design as Dreyer’s/Edy’s ice cream, which probably means the new Funfetti Ice Cream is made under those brands. There’s no clear indication of when the party-filled treat will be hitting the freezer aisle — although @candyhunting predicts February — but we can only hope that it’s sooner rather than later.
As expected, people are blowing up the comments section with their praise … and some good points. “This is amazing, but why can’t they have cake pieces instead of the cake swirl?” one person wrote. “2021 is already looking up,” wrote another. Who else is ready to stock their freezers?!
