London Nightingale Hospital is now receiving patients since first time in April
“I must sound like a broken record,” stated Matt Hancock, as he urged we all have a part to play in whether we’re at the peak or not. “It comes down to the behaviour of everyone,” he stressed. In the past seven days, the British government reported 389,572 people tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. Matt Hancock added: “One in three people get the disease with no symptoms and can pass it on.”
Addressing reports that hospital patients might be sent to hotels in order to ease the pressure off the NHS, Matt Hancock said it’s a “further back-up plan”.
Opening Nightingale hospitals are on the agenda first, with “all options” considered in how to manage this crisis.
“People can relieve the pressure on the NHS now,” he added. “Stay at home, follow the rules,” he said.
“Together we can make this the peak if enough people follow the rules, which are incredibly clear.”
