Watch Pro Fighter Georges St-Pierre Give Danny Trejo a Private Karate Lesson

Georges St-Pierre has been keeping busy since retiring from UFC and securing a place in the Hall of Fame. In addition to trying out the latest fitness fads on TikTok, including handstand and pushup challenges which showcase his impressive core strength, he has also got more shredded than ever before after cutting processed foods from his diet. And then there’s that little thing called the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he recently reprised the role of Batroc the Leaper.

Not that he’s severed ties with the world of martial arts entirely. Earlier this year, he was announced as a new sensei on Season 3 of Karate Combat, the full-contact karate competition organization. In a new video on Karate Combat’s YouTube channel, St-Pierre plays teacher to a surprising student: movie star Danny Trejo.

“I love karate,” Trejo says, joking that the only reason he never went pro as a fighter is that he’s “too pretty.” And as the short clip (which you can watch above) demonstrates, the 77-year-old actor is still spry and fast in his sparring session with the welterweight champion.

As for St-Pierre, his roots in the discipline go deep. According to Karate.com, he had attained a black belt in Kyokushin Karate by the age of 12, and went on to compete at a national level, winning a number of tournaments before ultimately before transitioning to MMA. Even then, he made regular references to his start in karate during his ring entrances, when he would wear a headband, kimono and black belt.
